Testing

Precise Magnetic Component Performance

We employ a range of advanced testing and electrical performance tools to ensure that every manufactured component meets your specifications with absolute precision. Each unique design is rigorously verified so that all performance requirements are fulfilled, ensuring total customer satisfaction.

To support this commitment to quality, we have invested in state-of-the-art test equipment. These tools enable full compliance with all technical specifications while also ensuring the safety of our technicians during electrical testing procedures.

The Ultimate in Testing

Our ed-k Power Choke tester characterizes inductors across a wide range of currents, delivering a complete inductance curve for each device. Instead of relying on core manufacturer DC Bias curves, we can provide a detailed, application-specific analysis of your inductor. This capability is critical in both prototype development and high-volume production, ensuring accuracy and repeatability.

Another significant advantage of partnering with Spang Engineered Solutions is access to our custom-built, in-house test bed that delivers a complete range of inductor testing. This ensures your design performs reliably under all operating conditions, helping to reduce development time and avoid costly redesigns.

Extensive Development Testing

In addition to inductor characterization, our engineers have access to every necessary standard power electronics tool, including the advanced lab resources of Magnetics® and Spang Power Electronics.

Our facilities include a complete array of instruments and support systems, such as electronics meters, temperature cabinets, materials analysis equipment, and fully outfitted machine shops. Our complete lineup makes a huge difference for your product.

Unparalleled Production Testing

At every location, we execute testing forprocess control and QA checking. These procedures are tailored to the specific requirements of each part and include:

  • Inductance
  • Inductance under load
  • Quality factor (Q)
  • DC resistance (DCR)
  • Frequency response
  • Dielectric strength (voltage breakdown)
  • Mechanical conformance

All production testing data is recorded and stored within our control systems, making it readily accessible to our engineering teams for review, analysis, and traceability.
